چکیده

We report on the development and demonstration of a MHz frequency domain multiplexing (FDM) technology to read out arrays cryogenic transition edge sensor (TES) X-ray microcalorimeters. In our FDM scheme, TESs are AC-biased at different resonant frequencies in low range through an array high-$Q$ LC resonators. The current signals all summed superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs). have demonstrated for readout 31 pixels using room temperature electronics, filters TES developed SRON, SQUID from VTT. repeated this second setup with 37 pixels. spectral resolutions $@$ 5.9 keV $\Delta E_{\rm pix ~MUX}=2.14\pm0.03$ eV ~MUX}=2.23\pm0.03$ eV. results comparable other approaches. There is potential further improve resolution increase number multiplexed TESs, open up applications

Temperature gradient analyzers for compact high-resolution X-ray spectrometers

Compact high-resolution X-ray spectrometers with a one-dimensional temperature gradient at the analyzer crystal are considered. This gradient, combined with the use of a position-sensitive detector, makes it possible to relax the usual Rowland-circle condition, allowing increased space at the sample position for a given energy resolution or arm radius. Thus, for example, it is estimated that ap...

High Speed, High Resolution pnCCDs as Two Dimensional Imaging Spectrometers for X-rays and Electrons

Since several years pnCCDs are well known as radiation detectors for spectroscopic imaging in many fields of science: X-Ray Fluorescence analysis (XRF), X-ray astronomy, X-ray Free Electron Laser science, synchrotrons and in the visible range as wave front sensors in adaptive optics systems. For direct electron detection in the focal plane of (S)TEMs they have delivered remarkable results in an...

Pupil plane multiplexing for multi-domain imaging sensors

We describe an approach to polarimetric imaging based on a unique folded imaging system with an annular aperture. The novelty of this approach lies in the system’s collection architecture, which segments the pupil plane to measure the individual polarimetric components contributing to the Stokes vectors. Conventional approaches rely on time sequential measurements (time-multiplexed) using a con...
